The Connestee Fire Rescue, Inc. consists of volunteer firefighters and EMS rescue first responders. The volunteers have families and full-time careers, but still logged over 2,100 hours of volunteer rescue service hours, plus over 3,600 training hours.

Connestee Fire Rescue
Connestee Fire Rescue has 45 volunteer fire fighters to fight structure and wildland fires.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year at the East Fork Road fire station. CFR operates as first responders to provide immediate life saving measures until an ambulance arrives from Transylvania County EMS.
Volunteers are trained for specialist rescue:
CFR has resources to work with communities to become Firewise. This is a program utilized to reduce the likelihood of wildfires and lower the damage caused if one should start.
The Connestee Fire Rescue was
founded in 1976, with one engine and one water tanker and 26 volunteers.
East Fork fire station was built in 1986.
Walnut Hollow fire station was built in 2008
